When your business-as-usual (primary) location becomes inaccessible or inoperable, the smartnumbers service ensures that calls continue to be delivered to a pre-determined secondary location.
If you use the smartnumbers proactive recovery service or the smartnumbers control service, this failover to the secondary location happens automatically.
If you use the smartnumbers directed recovery service or the smartnumbers protect service, the service administrator must invoke the service. You must have your ELSA plan reference and your ELSA password to invoke disaster recovery.
- Call the Network Management Centre (NMC) on 0800 181079
- Follow the options menu to request Exchange Line Site Assurance (ELSA)
- When prompted by the operator, give the ELSA plan reference followed by your ELSA password.
- Give the operator an emergency contact phone number, for example, a mobile phone number, on which you can be reached in case of any problems.
The operator confirms when the service has been invoked.
