When your business-as-usual (primary) location becomes inaccessible or inoperable, the smartnumbers service ensures that calls continue to be delivered to a pre-determined secondary location.
After the service has failed over to your secondary location, you can switch between dial plans to divert calls to each user's current location.
You can add and edit dial plans using the Smart Business Portal.
To edit dial plans for individual users:
- Log in to the Smart Business Portal and navigate to the Voice Continuity area.
- Click on a row to highlight an individual's details.
- Click Edit to edit these details.
In the Edit Record dialog, you can add or edit phone numbers for the user's primary and secondary locations, as well as for each of five dial plans. - Click Submit
Edits to dial plans are not used straight away: administrators can approve or reject edits to dial plans through the Smart Business Portal.
View the status of dial plans which are not being used yet through the Planned, Approved and In Progress pages.
Changes to dial plans are logged on the History page.
